GT Radial Adventuro AT3 Tire Review & Rating

Giti Tire USA has just added the GT Radial Adventuro AT3 to their lineup that is designed to provide more comfortable on-road driving along with dependable off-road capabilities. Built for drivers of light duty pickups and sport utility vehicles, the AT3 has a number of new features to improve performance in all types of driving and road conditions.

An enhanced tread compound features increased cut and chip resistance, improved dry and wet traction, as well as a longer lasting tread life. The symmetric pattern looks more aggressive than prior models and the results prove that out.

On-road, the tire’s two outer circumferential grooves aid in delivering better traction on wet road surfaces, while the interlaced grooves give the tire added grip. A 5-pitch tread sequence reduces road noise for increased ride comfort, which is something this model does a pretty good job at compared to earlier versions.

Off road, the S-shaped center rib and interlocked tread blocks are designed for enhanced traction on soft ground or loose sand, dirt and gravel. 3D grooves and chamfered edges help the tire self-clean itself and prevents stones from holding in the grooves for added performance.

Inside the tire you’ll find two steel belts with a jointless nylon cap ply for added strength and stability. GITI has made this tire available with a polyester carcass and up to a 10-ply rating. There’s also a built-in rim protector for preventing damage to your expensive wheels. Sizes are available from 15 to 20 inches, and a 50,000 mile warranty on P metric models is included.

Overall Thoughts

We’ve been impressed with many of the models in the GT Radial lineup, and the new AT3 continues in that regard. This tire handles well on the road or off the beaten path. It gives you a good feeling behind the wheel in almost all conditions. The only area we could see improving is its rock climbing abilities, but this is not really what the tire was designed for.

Overall, if you are looking for a tire that performs well in everyday on-road conditions as well as on moderate off-road terrain, the Adventuro AT3 is a nice option, especially when you factor in the lower price over many other leading name brands.

  1. In April of 2019 I put 4 of these E load range tires on my truck, before 5,000 miles running the rear tires at recommend pressure, I noticed significant wear in the middle of the tire and the outer edges looked brand new still. I ended up having to run these tires under 45 PSI to have them wear evenly, TPMS reminded me daily of these tires due to low pressure. By December 2020 the tires had 25,000 miles on them, and two of the four treads were below the wear bars to replace. I submitted a review in the middle of 2020 to discount tire, but they never put it on their website. These tires are junk, only lasted a little over 1.5 years on my truck, I normally get 3 years out of tires on this truck. I’ll never use GT again, funny thing is I found a set of tires for the same price made in the USA, by a brand I trust, the same tire I put on the truck when I first got it in 2011.

  2. I bought a set of these tire for my Tacoma???? And because the tires cracked open down in tread I had to pay 466.00 on second set that’s doing same thing so would recommend getting these for your vehicle
