Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 Tire Review & Rating

An ultra-high-performance (UHP) tire from Goodyear, the Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 is designed to provide excellent traction via a unique tread compound that is superior to most in dry conditions. This is enhanced by an asymmetric and directional tread pattern combined with huge outboard tread blocks tosignificantly improve dry cornering traction and grip on the road.

For wet surfaces the Eagle F1 Supercar G:2’s have Goodyear’s AquaChannel groves to get rid of water and enhance traction. They also come with a multi-radius mold shape for a smoother and quieter ride even on rougher road surfaces.

Durability is improved with twin, high-tensile steel belts that are specially reinforced with spirally wound nylon to create a longer lasting and stronger tire.

They even look classy with a serrated band sidewall and come in sizes from 19 to 20 inches and carry a Y-speed rating.

Overall Thoughts

While not the cheapest on the market, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires do provide a true UHP driving experience. Their dry traction and cornering grip is about as good as it gets in this category. Beyond that, the ride is more smooth and comfortable than you might expect from this type of tire.

On the other hand, wet traction could be improved on. As the tire begins wearing down you’ll find it lacks the grip on wet roads that many other UHP tires have. The other issue with this tire is its poor treadlife. We’ve heard many drivers mention getting less than 10,000 miles out of the tread.

Overall, a great tire at the track or for those looking for maximum cornering performance without regard to treadlife, but for everyday street use there are better models on the market.

Warranty

Goodyear provides a limited tread warranty on the Supercar G2. Tire uniformity is guaranteed for one-year or the first 2/32 inch of wear. Materials and workmanship are warranted for 6-years and include free replacement during the first year or first 2/32 inch of wear. A prorated amount is given down to the final 2/32 inch of tread depth.
