Firestone Winterforce LT Tire Review & Rating

The Winterforce LT from Firestone is designed to deliver winter traction and handling for drivers of heavy-duty trucks, vans and SUV’s. With an E load range, the LT is built to handle heavier loads and get through the worst winter weather conditions you can throw its way.

A tough winter tread compound and directional tread pattern give this tire increased dry and wet handling capabilities, as well as a smoother overall ride quality. The tire’s added sipes create more biting edges for enhanced grip on packed snow and ice covered road surfaces.

The LT’s shoulder blocks are also pinned to accept TSMI #15 blue-colored metallic winter studs in the event you need even more traction. Just be sure to use a complete set of four tires of the same brand and size for maximum traction and control.

Inside the tire you will find two steel belts for added strength and stability. A polyester cord body adds more ride comfort, while providing increased durability. Sizes are available from 16-18 inches, and a limited tread warranty is included on this model.

Pros

  • Snow and ice traction is exceptional
  • Excellent dry and wet handling
  • Tread is long lasting
  • Very good value for the money

Cons

  • A little bit of road noise

Overall Thoughts

The Winterforce LT delivers excellent performance on snow, sleet, freezing rain, ice and any other rough winter road conditions you might come across. The tire simply does not let you down when you need it the most. Handling on dry and wet roads is equally impressive.

Ride comfort is good, although you do hear a bit of road noise on the highway. That said, it is not excessive and a little extra noise can be expected on this type of tire. Treadlife is outstanding on this tire, which is mentioned in many reviews from other tire owners. Overall, this model provides excellent value for the money and is highly recommended.
