Firestone All Season Tire Review & Rating

Released in March 2017, the new Firestone All Season is billed as the most affordable all-season tire in the company’s lineup. Built to replace the older FR710, this model is designed to fit all types of coupes, sedans, minivans and crossovers. Firestone has geared this model toward basic all-season driving needs.

Firestone uses an all-season tread compound with a unique tread design that features deeper tread grooves and sipes that enhance its performance when you’re driving on wet and dry surfaces. Branded with the M+S symbol, the All Season is capable of giving you decent traction in light snow as well.

Firestone All Season Tire

Firestone engineers spent considerable time in creating a tire that provides a quiet and comfortable ride, and for the most part they succeeded. In addition, for those concerned about fuel efficiency, the Firestone All Season offers lower rolling resistance than many competitor tires.

The All Season comes in a number of 14-20 inch sizes, and sports either a T or H-speed rating. A 55K or 65k mile tread warranty is included on all sizes.

Pros

  • Excellent dry traction and handling
  • Smooth, comfortable ride
  • Fuel efficient design
  • Lower costing than many of the bigger name models

Cons

  • Wet traction could be an issue for some
  • Winter performance in deep snow and ice

Overall Thoughts

The Firestone All Season tire is a welcome update to the older FR710. It comes in a wider range of sizes than many previous Firestone tires and provides the traction, handling, comfort and even tread wear needed during every season of the year.

The fact that this is a new tire means there is little feedback so far from vehicle owners who have used this tire. However, there are a couple of areas where you may find this tire struggles a bit. Traction on wet pavement is ok, but not as good as many top models in its class. In addition, grip in deep snow and on ice is what you would expect from an all-season tire… not that good.

Overall, the Firestone All Season tire has a lot of promise. It features a lower price point that is particularly appealing for budget-minded drivers. We rank it in the mid to upper level of the standard all-season class below other models like the Continental TrueContact or General Altimax RT43.

  1. Have same problem sound like I’m driving a 4wheel drive with mud tires on highway horrible droning noise coming from tires.

  2. I had the Firestone All Season 205/70R15 installed on 10/28/17. On the drive home I noticed the noise coming from the tires, sounded like I was in a truck. The noise was noticeable from 35MPH and up. I called Firestone (where I had them installed) and they never heard of any complaints and told me to bring it back for a test drive. Will post back after results from Firestone.
