A unique high void directional tread pattern and numerous wide lateral grooves work in tandem to ensure maximum contact and grip with the road surface on both dry pavement or in wet weather.

Distinct 3D Canyon SIPE technology is made to reduce braking distances on icy roads, as well as increase acceleration from standing starts. With this technology, each tread block has more edges, yet the rigidity of each block isn’t compromised as they support one another and work together for maximum control.

Overall Thoughts

It’s hard not to like the Falken HS449 winter tire. The handling and performance, especially in snowy conditions is excellent. Its range of advanced technologies help in setting it apart from the competition and it offers some of the best grip in wet and dry weather as any tire in this class.

The only potential downside we can find is that they may wear down quicker than anticipated. However, this will largely depend upon the conditions and miles covered. Typically you should find they last at least two winters, maybe three depending upon how much you drive the vehicle and how harsh the weather is.

Due to how well the tire performs in dry weather, many people decide to leave it on all year round. Although you can certainly do that, don’t expect the type of dry traction and handling that you would get with a summer tire on hot dry road surfaces. If you’re looking for new winter tires that offer the type of control and stability you need regardless of weather and road conditions, this is a very good choice. It comes highly recommended.
