Engineered with the latest in tire technology and racing performance, the recently released Falken Azenis FK453 tire is the company’s newest ultra-high performance summer tire. Designed for drivers of luxury sport coupes and high-end sedans, the FK453 is built to provide not only a high level of performance, but a more comfortable ride as well.

The tread sports an all-new High Polymer Silica Compound that is made to provide increased grip and traction for drivers who enjoy more spirited driving. An asymmetrical tread pattern combines with larger outside shoulder blocks to further provide additional cornering grip and better overall braking abilities. A side benefit to this is that it also lowers the excessive road noise, which in fact this tire does quite well.

For driving on wet roads the tire’s three circumferential grooves move water from under the tread, resulting in less risk of hydroplaning and enhanced handling, as well as added confidence behind the wheel.

Inside the tread you’ll find twin steel belts and a Rayon Construction, which helps the tire maintain its shape and gives it added strength and stability at higher speeds. Falken offers sizes ranging from 17-22 inches, and this model features either a W or Y-speed rating.

Falken’s newest summer ultra-performance tire is a winner when it comes to driving performance. You can tell by looking at the aggressive tread design that this tire is going to give you seat of your pants cornering power and better stability in straight line acceleration, which it certainly does not disappoint.

What you might not expect though is how quiet and comfortable the tire is when you are on the highway or just driving around town. The biggest negative with this tire is its treadlife. Far too many drivers have complained of getting only 10K-20K miles from the tread, which is sad for such a good performance tire.

Overall, if you don’t mind knowing upfront that treadwear may shorter than expected, then the performance and lower price point with the FK453 make it a very good option in UHP summer tires.
