Falken Sincera SN-211 Tire Review & Rating

With an eye on performance as well as a longer treadlife, Falken has introduced the Sincera Touring SN-211 tire. Designed for drivers of all types of coupes, sedans and minivans, the SN 211 offers the latest in tire technology to provide year round driving enjoyment.

The all-season tread compound goes with a serrated sidewall design and aggressive outer shoulder blocks to give the tire sporty good looks, as well as enhanced traction and handling.

Falken Sincera SN-211 Tire Review

Performance on wet road surfaces is increased due to the four circumferential grooves that are optimized to evacuate more water away from the tread. The result is added resistance to hydroplaning and more confidence when driving in wet weather. Multiple sipes around the tire add to better stability on wet roads as well.

Falken has also added Treadwear Indicators that make it easy to monitor wear on the tires and let you know when it is time to schedule a tire rotation.

Inside the tire you will find twin steel belts for enhanced strength and durability at higher speeds. They also provide better overall riding comfort and a more even treadwear. An 80,000 mile tread warranty is standard on the SN211.

Pros

  • All-season handling and traction is very good
  • Tire is quiet and comfortable
  • Good value for the price
  • 80,000 mile tread warranty

Cons

  • Would like to see a little more cornering performance
  • Traction in snow and ice

Overall Thoughts

The SN-211 is a low cost all-season touring tire that provides predictable handling and a comfortable ride. You can expect lower road noise from this tire than you might expect. While it does nothing outstanding, it it does provide solid performance and a pretty good treadlife.

Snow and ice traction is the biggest standout when it comes to negatives on this tire. It simply lacks the grip you need when braking or accelerating, especially on hard-packed snow, freezing rain or ice. This has been mentioned by numerous other drivers as well.

Overall, we rank this model in middle to lower middle half of the touring all-season class. It’s lower price point makes it an attractive option for budget-minded drivers who are not that concerned about winter performance. However, we would suggest going with a tire like the Continental TrueContact, General Altimax RT43 or Kelly Edge AS among others as a better choice.
