Dunlop Radial Mud Rover Tire Review & Rating

The Radial Mud Rover is Dunlop Tires ultimate off-road traction tire that is designed especially for drivers of jeeps, pickups and other sport utility vehicles who are wanting maximum traction and serious performance in a wide variety of off-road conditions.

The tread compound and aggressive lug pattern is built tough and features a wide open shoulder design which allows this tire to self-clean itself of mud, rocks and other debris with ease. Center tread bars enhance lateral stability and create increased directional control both on or off road. This is mentioned many times in various reviews from other tire owners.

Dunlop Radial Mud Rover Tire Review

While this is an off-road tire, the Mud Rover does have decent highway road manners as well. The variable pitch tread design that Dunlop has added, breaks up the noise frequency cycles, which aid in giving this tire a more quiet ride on the highway than you might expect.

Inside the tire you’ll find six full plies for increased strength and durability against cuts, bruises, chips and breaks. They also provide enhanced tread block stability. A two-ply polyester sidewall design provides further strength to the lower sidewalls when climbing rocks or driving in rough off-road terrains.

Traction in deep snow is another area this tire excels, but you will want to be careful on packed snow or ice. Although the deep tread drives through all types of terrain, the lugs are smooth and do not have biting sipes to aid in gripping the snow and ice.
