Continental Rolls Out New TrueContact Touring Tire

Continental Tire has recently rolled out its new TrueContact touring all-season tire. With new proprietary technology and enhanced performance, Continental says the TrueContact can save drivers upwards of $550 over the life of the tires.

According to Travis Roffler, director of marketing, “The TrueContact brings together many of our innovative technologies into one, all-season tire. We’ve blended our EcoPlus and Comfort Ride technologies with our Tuned Performance Indicators and added in our newest technology, the Alignment Verification System, to give consumers a tire that will save them money and give them the performance they demand.”

Some of the new features of the TrueContact include:

EcoPlus Technology which delivers improved treadlife and savings of up to $550 compared to a leading competitors standard tire. Continental says that the actual savings will depend on driving habits, road conditions, tire maintenance and replacement intervals.

Savings are based on set of four tires with a 90,000-mile limited tread life warranty, $3.30 gallon in fuel, 23% rolling resistance improvement based on independent testing Continental TrueContact 215/60R16 95T compared to Pirelli P4 Four Season 215/60R16 95T and 4.3% fuel savings based on rolling resistance to fuel efficiency ratio within the estimated range of energy.gov.

• Alignment Verification System that lets drivers know when it’s time to have an alignment done on their vehicle.

• Enhanced wet braking performance that stops you vehicle up to 30 feet shorter than a leading competitor tire. According to Continental, the results are based on internal wet braking test of four tires: Continental TrueContact 215/60R16 95T, Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 P215/60R16 94H, Michelin Defender 215/60R16 95T and the Pirelli P4 Four Season 215/60R16 95T.

• Tuned Performance Indicators that feature the letters D, W and S (Dry, Wet and Snow) in the tread to show you how well the tread is still optimized to handle each level.

• Comfort Ride Technology that is built to absorb road vibrations.

• Up to a 90,000 mile treadlife warranty to go along with a 60-day trial.

Continental offers the TrueContact in a variety of 15 to 19 inch sizes to go withan 800 UTQG rating. Speed ratings of T, H and V are available as well.
