  1. Would anyone use Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac for winter tires 285/60/20? If so, how are they for hauling performance? About to purchase some and would appreciate some feedback prior to. Thanks all!

  2. I have a 2014 ram 2500 diesel and went through the factory tires in about 30k. I bought the Goodyear Kevlar 10 ply and also got about 30k out of those. Last set I bought Toyo Open Country AT2 Extreme and have had them on for about 70k. The are very worn down now and I will be buying a new set this week or next but still by far the best tire imo. Looking at AT3 or another set of AT2 Extremes again.

  3. I have a 2004 dodge 2500 diesel 4×4 megacab. I’m currently running Nitto Grappler G2 A/T. They were expensive and are wore out at 22,000 miles. They are 10 ply and I don’t pull any real heavy loads. What 10 ply A/T tire will get very good mileage. I only get off roads a few times a year hog and bear hunting. I run 315/70-17. Any help would be appreciated.

    1. I ran 285/70/17 in my 07 Ram 2500 diesel 4×4. I got right at 40K out of mine, very little pulling, probably 5K miles of bumper pulling a 1 ton van on a car trailer. They wove very evenly and I’m happy with them for the price and miles I got out of them.

  4. Drive a 2003 Ram 2500. So far the best tires that work on my truck have been the Yokohama Geolander GO15. On my second set. Also use these tires on my wifes SUV.

  5. I put the KO2 All Terrains on my 2016 Ram Turbo Diesel and the only lasted 10,000 miles I was very disappointed in these tires.

  6. Took my stock firestone AT tires off at 500 miles. Put BFG KO2 they lasted 14K. They were the first 10ply I had a blowout with. Put the Cooper Discovery At3 tires on. 8000 miles they were wearing so bad I took them off and put Toyo AT2 on., but they only lasted 20K. They wore evenly. I am at 45K now and my stock tires are back on. My buddy put the Michelin tires on his ram and at 10K they are half gone. These blogs appear to have guys in love with certain brands of tires that ain’t worth a crap. I’m going to try the Hankook tires next. These Ram 2500 trucks appear to eat AT tires. When I find one that really last I’ll post an update. Don’t waste your money on the first 3 sets I tried. The Toyo was the best for weather and off-road but 20K is no good at $1300 a set.

    1. We’re sorry to hear about such a bad experience you have had. Can you provide more details on your driving environment?

      Thanks for commenting.

    2. Hello Mach3.6. Thanks for your post. I am having the same issues with my 2015 Ram 2500 with the Cummins just wearing out tires. Did you find a tire that you are satisfied with? I only got around 20K miles with the Firestone ATs that came on it, about 20K miles on Nitto Terra Grappler G2s, and now I’m at 16K miles on a set of BF Goodrich AT KO2s 285/65R20 that are wearing very quickly. Most of the driving I do is around town with about 10 to 12 800 to 1000 mile highway trips a year. I tow a boat that weighs about 9,000 lbs. on the trailer about 1,000 miles a year. Thanks for sharing your info and your input.

      1. I put on a set of the Michelin LTX AT 2 on my 2017 2500 Ram and pull a fifth wheel one time per month and drive in town and highway the balance. I currently have 58k on this set and they still look good. I bought a new 2020 Ram 2500 and the Firestone transforce are bald at 20k. I’m putting at set of the Michelin on today to see if the new truck gets the same as the old.

    1. Got a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4×4 diesel auto trans. I run 31570r17 BF ATs first set was put on when truck was at dealer , got 45,000 miles.2 more sets at about 45,000 each. new KO2’s now about 20,000 still over half tread. 80% of my driving is under 45 mph on gravel roads . Still you should be doing better than what you say. Maybe they don’t like the heat of hiway driving. Be something to look into
