Goodyear Eagle Sport All Season Tire Review & Rating
Built to replace the popular Eagle GT, the new Goodyear Eagle Sport All Season has quickly become one of Goodyear’s best-selling high performance all-season tires on the market today. Designed for drivers of all types of sport coupes, sedans and sport trucks, the Eagle Sport AS offers more responsive handling to go with dependable traction in year round weather conditions.
A high-tech all-season tread compound and asymmetric tread pattern provide increased dry and wet road performance. Dry traction and cornering grip are enhanced through larger outer shoulder blocks and notched center ribs. It further increases steering response and feel, which is quite noticeable on this tire.
Driving on wet surfaces is aided by four circumferential grooves around the tread that channel away water and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. This is a strength for this tire and one that is often mentioned in other driver reviews. Goodyear has also added full-depth sipes on this model that work to provide biting edges in rain, snow and ice.
Inside the tire you will find two steel belts that are reinforced with polyamide for added strength and increased durability at higher speeds. Goodyear has also used their unique Race Wrap Construction Technology that is used in their racing tires on the NASCAR circuit which increase handling stability and steering response.
There is also a built-in rim protector that helps prevent damage to expensive wheels. Sizes are available from 15 to 20 inches, and speed ratings of V and W. A somewhat surprising 50,000 mile tread guarantee is also included on this model.

Overall Thoughts
Goodyear has a very good model in the new Eagle Sport All Season. We feel that it’s a much higher performing tire than the legendary Eagle GT, yet priced below their line of Eagle F1 models. Traction on both dry or wet pavement is excellent, but it’s the cornering grip and steering response that stick out the most. We really like the grip and feel this tire provides and it is just a step behind that of the F1 Asymmetric All Season.
Ride comfort is better than many tires in this class. However, you can expect to hear a little more road noise than you’ll find on other top tires like the Continental DWS06 or Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3 Plus. Tread life is better than average and comes backed with an excellent 50,000 mile warranty.
Overall, if you’re looking for a top performing all-season tire, the Eagle Sport is not a bad choice, especially if you do not put a premium on noise and winter traction. In addition, Goodyear has priced it lower than you might expect.

Warranty
Goodyear provides a 6-year or 50,000 mile tread warranty on the Eagle Sport. Mileage is reduced by half on rear if differently sized than front. Tire uniformity is guaranteed for the first year or first 2/32 inch of wear.
Materials and workmanship are warranted for 6-years and include free replacement during the first year or first 2/32 inch of wear. A prorated amount is given for the remaining time period or down to the final 2/32 inch of tread depth.

I put these on my 2013 Mercedes C300 and now have about 50,000 miles on them. I previously had 2 sets of Michelin tires. The Michelin’s had a wear rating of 500 but the fronts were gone at about 35,000 miles and the rears only lasted 20,000 miles. Yes my car has staggered wheel sizes and the rears are a very low profile (35) but I found this unacceptable. The Goodyear tires still have 6/32 of tread left front and rear which is amazing and unexpected. Noise – yes they were louder than the Michelin’s when new and at about 25,000 miles became quite loud. I guess a tradeoff for long life. I will say I think running them at a higher tire pressure may be part of the reason they have lasted longer. I am running 39 lbs front and 42 lbs rear which is within recommended range by Mercedes. I ran the Michelin’s at 36 and 39. I have ordered a set of Veredestein Hypertrac all season (revised compound) and will replace the Goodyear’s soon. Hoping they are as good but not as noisy.
I have them on my RangeRover sport – previous tire was Pirelli Scorpion. Handling is a bit sharper, and noise and ride not quite as good – but perfectly acceptable. I just tried them on snow and ice in Lake Tahoe at single digit temps – don’t; really have anything to compare that to – but they worked OK. Didn’t get stuck and a a few small slides were caught by the VSC/ABS. Yeah – if you live year round in a winter area you probably want something different – but for occasional ski trip – worked OK.
I don’t understand it I have roughly 10,000 miles in mine and they’re damn near down to the wear bars.
Going on about 18,000 miles with these tires. Cornering grip and steering is amazing and what I wanted more over the quietness. Road noise is a little loud, but not enough to bother me. Would I buy these again? You bet!
I had gotten these tires last year, and I think I made a mistake. The road noise it’s like if you have a bad wheel bearing. It’s just terrible. I should’ve bought the continental tires my car first came with. But anyways, they still look like new, they do amazingly good in the snow and rain.
It’s a Sport Tire! It differs from a touring tire. I put a complete set on my 2002 BMW 330Ci convertible. The tire performs as it should, and provides the type of response I expected in dry and rain conditions.
I have not and likely will not test these in the snow, as the convertible usually hangs out in the garage during the winter (Chicago). Even though the tire is considered All Season, people need to understand that an actual snow tire (perhaps even with chains) should be considered for some geographic regions. That is, these tires would probably not fare well in upper New England or Siberia during the winter…you know? They are not snow tires and are not marketed as such.
Overall, I like the performance and the appearance of these tires on my Bimmer.
Imagine complaining about road noise on a sport tire
Bought these tires for my 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5SV. There is noticeable noise from the tires as you drive, more so if you have the windows down. It is by far not unbearable to have to listen to. It’s slightly louder than the norm. Regarding tires gripping the roadway while driving, they are by far superior to any other tires I have used on any vehicle. I’ve currently put 28k miles on them and they still look near new. I believe I’ll be able to achieve 55-60k miles before needing new tires. For the price and quality this by far is the best tire.

I just ordered these tires for my 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback. I should’ve read these reviews first. I’m a little concerned about winter, I live in Chicago. Also, a little concerned about road noise. Goodyear however says in their website these aren’t too noisy?
