Barum Bravuris 2 Tire Review & Rating

The new Barum Bravuris 2 is built to provide drivers with a low-cost performance option in a tire that is well suited for everyday driving needs. Designed for sports cars and sedans, this tire features an asymmetric tread pattern that tracts well on both dry and wet road surfaces.

The inner side of the Bravuris 2 tire sports an all-season tread design with an increased number of tread blocks that are computer optimized to provide better handling and braking at normal speeds. Wider circumferential grooves remove more water from under the tread and reduce the risk of hydroplaning.

Barum Bravuris 2 Tire Review

A silica enhanced tread compound gives this tire alonger tread life, which is one reason why you will find a 45,000 tread warranty.

Inside the tread are two steel belts that improve the strength and durability of the tire. Also note, Barum is a subsidiary of Continental Tire. This model is available in a variety of sizes and profiles to fit most all vehicles.

Pros
  • Dry and wet handling performance is very good
  • Excellent daily driving type tire
  • Low road noise
  • Value priced to go with a 45,000 mile tread warranty

Cons

  • Cornering grip at higher speeds

Overall Thoughts

The Barum Bravuris 2 is a low-priced high-performance tire that offers predictable handling and an acceptable ride. No, it is not on the level of some of the other high performance tires from Michelin, Goodyear, or other major brand names that offer superior race like grip and acceleration, but it does have a place in today’s tire market.

The ride is pretty comfortable for this type of tire and road noise is quite low. For drivers on a tight budget who want a good every day sporty performance tire, this low cost model is one of the better tires you will find available. There is also a 45,000 mile tread guarantee included as well. Highly recommended.

  1. I have the generation before these, and looking to get the latest generation. I love them! Removes a lot of road vibration and small divets in the road are smooth. Excellent excellent ability in the rain. I almost never hydroplane

  2. These are really good tires for the money. I drive aggressively from time to time and they hold the road very well. Superior traction on the wet roads of Seattle, but only fair in snow. I have had 4 sets. The set I replaced today had 55k miles with 5K still left. I recommend them to everyone.

  3. 30k plus miles on these on my 2006 Eclipse and they are pretty darn good
for day to day. Handle well in dry and wet conditions and no excessive
tire wear in my experience. For the price, these are a great buy.
Just don’t expect them to be super-sporty or super soft, quiet luxury car tires. These are not in the price range of those types of tires, but they are a great deal for what they are.
